When I came across Natalie Merchant’s video on National Public Radio, Tiny Desk Concert, I was first drawn to the fact that there was an accordion player in the band. Then, when I head her sing, I found her voice haunting and I wanted to understand what she was singing about. 

I picked her as the artist to create a fake cd cover. I knew I wanted her face on the cover. I created the cover, CD, and back in Illustrator. Everything is vector. I used the pen tool to create thin shape areas to represent values of her face. I titled this Haunted Dream because of her voice and the first word I used to describe it was haunting. The idea of the two words over lapping is that people get nightmares in their dreams and sometimes people live them.
