lazy blackletter
For class, we had to design a font. I always love looking at Blackletter fonts, but most of the time I can't read them. So for the assignment, I created a Blackletter styled font that is easier to read. I tried to keep the properties often found in Blackletter fonts. I used grid paper to help me keep consistent angles and able to easily construct it once scanned with reusable parts when creating it in Illustrator. I used Fontographer to then create the vector drawings into a real, usable font. I illustrated the scroll because I thought it would be appropriate with my font. I overlaid the image with an old parchment texture to add to the theme.
