behind the screens
With one of the biggest group projects that we did in college, we were tasked to design a display case. There were two groups of twelve and the most difficult part of working in a big group is trying to agree on an idea.
We all finally agreed on the topic of screen printing. We coined the phrase "behind the screens" and created a logo to simplify the print. With the BTS logo, we started to brainstorm what we wanted to display.
We wanted to show the process of screen printing, so we started to write a script that describes the process in steps. We thought it would be cool to showcase the steps with photos, so that is the main project that I worked on for this. In addition to that, I created a board that showed examples of famous screen prints.
For the photography, I climbed up on top of the workstation table to get a birds-eye view of the process. I got another member of our group to model the steps. You can see all the photos that I used to create the end result. I had combined photos to show more than one step being demonstrated. I used seven photos in the main three overview photos, and used nine photos as pop ups that got closer and a more detailed example of what is happening. Each popup is pulled up to our display to explain what is happening in each step, as you can see in the final display case.
